What exactly is light therapy?
Light therapy, you may have heard this term before, but what exactly is light therapy? And what is its effect on your body?
Well, light therapy is an evidence-based method of influencing and even shifting your biological clock. The radiation from light glasses suppresses the production of the sleep hormone melatonin. The less melatonin in your blood, the more energetic, alert and happier you feel. This form of therapy is often used to help treat jet lag, winter depression and for shift workers.

Light therapy for shift and night workers
Many shift and night workers have varied sleep patterns, which means they are more likely to suffer from sleep complaints than day workers or others. To solve this sleeping problem, we combine light therapy with techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-i/CBT-i) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) to deal with the complaints. Thanks to targeted advice and special techniques, night workers learn to regulate their biorhythms. After the shift, we stimulate a decrease in melatonin with one of our special light glasses to induce the sleepy feeling.
